          Ice blue dial
The ice-blue dial is decorated with a grain pattern. Starting with the small seconds dial at 6 o'clock, a three-dimensional geometric pattern of decorative rounded windows repeats itself, giving it a distinctive character. The dial's minute track is surrounded by a delicate wave-patterned border. The dial motif is created by machine engraving, which involves the use of a turning tool to carve a pattern into the surface of an object. This dial design combines Rolex's expertise and creativity while paying tribute to the traditional art of watchmaking, and is a welcome addition to the Perpetual Motion collection. Like the 18-carat gold model, the dial of the Perpetual Motion Model 1908 in 950 platinum features Arabic numerals 3, 9 and 12, as well as the same faceted hour-markers and hands. This distinctive dial colour is only available on the Day-Date, Cosmograph Daytona and Perpetual 1908 models.

          Domed and pitted bezel
The watch features a slim case with an elegantly chic outer bezel combining a domed design with a fine triangular pitched pattern on the outside and a domed shape on the inside.

          Platinum
Platinum is precious and rare, and is especially noted for its silvery-white colour and sparkling luster. Platinum is one of the densest and heaviest metals in the world and has unique chemical and physical properties, such as high resistance to corrosion. Despite this, platinum's soft, elastic and malleable texture makes it particularly difficult to work and polish, a task that can only be mastered by highly skilled personnel. Rolex has always used platinum 950, an alloy containing 950 parts per thousand (ppm) of platinum, which is cast by Rolex's exceptional metalworkers. Only a noble metal can match a great watch.
